I owe close to $8000 on my credit card. it has been turned over to an attorney. They have since tried to take the money out of my band account which i didn’t have that much in it so i got a huge fine from my bank they have also taken my tax return. I just called the attorneys office because i want to set up arrangements so money doesn’t get garnished anymore. I am making an attempt to pay this off. They said unless I make a payment of $249 a month they can still attempt to garnish money from my bank account and from anywhere else. I can’t afford that much right now. I even tried calling the credit card company and when I give my information they transfer me somewhere else because its not with them anymore…so I can’t even talk to the credit card company. I am actually trying to make an effort to start paying this, but whats the point if they are going to continue to garnish my bank account and leave me way in the hole so i cant get other bills payed like rent and heat. I may have made a mistake in the past and will never have another credit card again, but I’m trying to fix it now. Does anyone know of anything at all that can help me settle this debt and so I can make small monthly payments that I can afford?
